Our Children Services department are looking for Fostering Assessing Social Workers to work on a full range of social work duties in relation to statutory Family Placement work.
This is an exciting role where you will be promoting the best interests for children and young people at all times. You’ll perform a range of duties in accordance with the National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services and Fostering Services Regulations.
You’ll be responsible for the recruitment and assessment of prospective carers in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. This role includes actively promoting training and development of foster carers, colleagues and own personal needs.

About you
We are looking for someone with substantial post qualifying experience in fostering and be able to perform statutory duties under the Children Act 1989, Fostering Minimum Standards and Care Planning and Fostering Regulations 2015.
We need someone who has the ability to make professional judgments in a multi-disciplinary setting including negotiating resources.
You’ll need to be an effective communicator and able to work with a range of different service users and be able to lead and chair multi-disciplinary meetings and represent the agency in a formal setting or similar.
You’ll have the ability to influence service delivery by identifying gaps in service and be able to maintain high quality records, write clear concise reports and correspondence when dealing with complex issues.
This is a vital role where you’ll have the opportunity to develop on your already existing knowledge of legislation and statutory responsibilities relating to Children and Family Services including appropriate Quality Standards. You’ll also have in-depth knowledge and understanding of child development and issues of family dynamics as well as understanding service eligibility criteria concerning need and of risk of significant harm.
