AddressFullstack Engineer II (Frontend-Leaning) - Supply Chain Tooling

As Zapp enters its next stage of growth, we seek a Frontend-leaning Fullstack Engineerwith an appetite for ambiguity, a willingness to roll up their sleeves and the leadership skills to guide small teams towards high-quality deliverables.
The Supply Chain team is the newest engineering team at Zapp. There’s little legacy code to deal with and plenty of opportunity to execute your vision without being burdened by what’s been built so far. In the first three months, you’ll work on automating key business processes and building reliable data management systems that can collect, store and publish critical supplier data to internal and external systems. Once the core infrastructure is in place, your responsibilities will shift towards surfacing key data to decision-makers quickly and accurately so that the Supply Chain team can rapidly identify, or even predict bottlenecks and resolve them before our customers are impacted. Think of building a command-and-control suite for our Supply Chain team. If you’re the kind of person who hears the word ‘Excel’ and thinks there has to be a better way to do that, this job is for you.
As a frontend engineer, you’ll be working with a React app that’s built using NextJS/Jest/Typescript/NodeJS. Experience with Tailwind, Circle CI, GCP, Firebase, NestJS, React-Query is preferred but not required.
Main responsibilities
- Work closely with our backend engineer to implement robust supply-chain management systems.
- Work closely with internal/external teams who rely on the data we own/produce data we need.
- Become a domain expert in our demand forecasting/order management engines
- Increase the quality of the commits pushed to production.
- Work closely with our UX designers.
- Collaborate and work closely with your manager to grow and maintain a mature team of engineers.
- Define critical KPIs to monitor and review performance.
- Be the voice of Engineering in quarterly and annual planning.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and convey them into technical solutions.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in front-end development.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of front-end systems through thorough testing and optimisation.
The ideal candidate will have the following
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a frontend developer scaling applications within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Typescript skills and any experience with Node.js frameworks.
- Previous experience using GCP.
- Knowledge of GraphQL.
- Extensive experience using React.js and/or React Native.
