Gas Compliance Officer

Directorate: Adult Care, Housing & Public Health

Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week.

There is an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Property Service. The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the Council fulfil its statutory compliance duties in gas, carbon monoxide and legionella legislation.

You will be responsible for ensuring that robust performance management and quality assurance frameworks are in place for property compliance. You will also be responsible for developing and managing robust procedures, processes and policies in your designated area.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you are Gas Safe Qualified and approved, ACS Domestic Gas Qualifications (CCN1,CENWAT, HTR1, MET1,CMDDA1,CONGLPG),City & Guilds Craft and City and Guilds Advanced Craft, in Domestic, Heating, Hot and Cold Water, Drainage & Sanitation.

Whilst legionella and carbon monoxide experience is not essential, you must have a willingness to develop your skills and knowledge in this area.

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for part-time).
