Gas Quality Engineer

What you will enjoy doing

• As part of this role, you will be travelling from our head office to customers’ sites in the UK, offshore and overseasto undertake inspections and validations/calibrations on gas chromatographs and other instrumentation
• You will carry out performance evaluations in accordance with the international standard and carry out inspections of Gas Quality measurement systems
• As part of this role, you will be producing inspection reports and calibration reports and taking responsibility for your own content
• Furthermore, this role may require the movement of cylinders weighing up to 56 kg on certain low ramps in the laboratory/business however, full and appropriate training and equipment will be provided to support you with this
• You will also be assisting the Senior Gas Quality Engineers and Operations Manager in their day-to-day duties, as and when required
• Please note, this a role at EffecTech, a sister company of BOC, the largest supplier of industrial, medical and special gases in the UK and Ireland. Both EffecTech and BOC are part of the Linde Group, a leading global industrial gases and engineering company

What makes you great

• You must hold a full UK driving licence
• In addition, travel will be required as part of this role so you must be willing to travel extensively (up to 35% of time), which may be at short notice when required, primarily within the UK but occasionally overseas and offshore
• You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required for dealing with our clients on a regular one-to-one basis
• Sound organisational ability with the capacity to work individually or within the team on many tasks concurrently
• A genuine interest in mathematics and science
• Furthermore, you have a genuine willingness to learn new skills and continue to develop yourself
• You have the ability to follow an agreed procedure
• And lastly, you work with integrity aligned to the values of being an inclusive workplace

We offer a starting salary of £26,410 and benefits package with a pension scheme as standard. For those with 2 years on-site experience, we will offer a salary of £31,000. In addition, we offer 25 days paid leave + bank holidays, and a range of other flexible leave benefits, so that you have time to do the things you enjoy.
