Reed are currently recruiting for a General Manager to work at my client, a leading public sector organisation based in Huddersfield (HD1).
You will have responsibilities both within the Assets team and Technical Growth and Regeneration teams within Homes & Neighbourhood.
Key Responsibilities:
Assets Team:
- Support the Service Manager Assets in delivering HRA capital and revenue-funded improvement programmes.
- Champion the tenant voice, ensuring their needs are central to our operations.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to plan, manage, and deliver major improvement programmes.
- Manage and oversee multiple programmes of work, ensuring delivery on time, to budget, and in accordance with all relevant statutory and policy requirements.
- Establish key relationships with stakeholders and partners to ensure a holistic approach to engagement, planning and delivery.
Technical Growth & Regeneration Team:
- Deliver a specialist and technical function of the business, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Manage the day-to-day outcomes of the operational teams within Homes & Neighbourhoods.
- Oversee the management of a technical function in Homes & Neighbourhoods, ensuring all service objectives are achieved and delivered within a context of value for money.
- Provide professional specialist and technical advice in relation to specific areas of responsibility and expertise, to deliver effective business solutions.
- Prepare detailed, clearly written reports on key issues and present verbal reports to the Senior Leadership Team and/or Board when required.
- Participate in organisation wide service reviews, ensuring reviews are delivered through to conclusion and any arising recommendations are implemented as appropriate.
To be successful in this role as General Manager, you will have:
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- Professional membership: MCIOB, MRICS, RIBA, MRTPI, MCIH- desirable
- Proven experience of delivering improvement schemes from inception to completion, preferably within a housing environment
- Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams and working collaboratively with others to achieve service aims and meet KPI’s and targets
- Proven experience of budget management and reporting
- Possession of a full and valid driving licence and a car available for work.
This role is full time 37 hours per week, with a pay rate of £25.13 per hour PAYE
