General Manager 
Location: Dursley, Gloucestershire 
Hours: Fulltime, permanent  
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum 
Our client is looking for an animal loving General Manager to join them on a full-time permanent basis! 
You will ensure visitors and clients receive the highest level of care, whilst managing the smooth running of the facility. Working with the Assistant Manager and Supervisors, you will implement best practises whilst identifying growth opportunities. 
The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 Qualification in Animal Care (or equivalent) and have previous experience managing a team. 
Key Responsibilities of a General Manager 

• Ensure excellent service is always provided to clients. 
• Welcome clients to the facility, proving in-depth tours, and answering any queries. 
• Manage bookings via email and phone. 
• Ensure the Bookings Team process all enquiries accurately.  
• Issue invoices and ensure payments are taken. 
• Monitor budgets and produce monthly/weekly reports. 
• Report any issues to the Director when necessary. 
• Give guidance and support the Assistant Manager and Supervisors in decision making. 
• Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff. 
• Manage staff scheduling to cover any absence and peak seasons. 
• Carry out staff appraisals and performance reviews. 
• Hold weekly and monthly staff meetings to communicate successes and opportunities. 
• Manage social media accounts, events, and advertising. 
• Manage license, utilities, and insurance renewals. 
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness across the facility.  
• Ensure all Health and Safety policies are implemented and followed. 
• Be first point of call for emergencies during out of working hours. 

Key Skills of a General Manager 

• Experience of working with animals. 
• Ability to lead and supervise a team. 
• Knowledge of Health and Safety policies. 
• Sound knowledge of MS knowledge and booking systems. 
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. 
• Level 3 Qualification in Animal Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
