In the last 10 years, our client has built an £80m revenue business, helping top banks with their strategy, assessing performance and competitiveness through data.
Time and time again, they have helped markets professionals with around 2-8 years of experience, either in sales, trading, IBD, ECM/DCM, M&A or research, make a move in which they learn a raft of new skills broadening their product knowledge across a big bank, working with MDs in different businesses and building long-term relationships. This could also suit someone working into front office stakeholders in a consulting firm, third party/vendor or Fintech.
We are looking for someone who has leadership potential or is already impressive front of MD stakeholders in banks, to discuss and analyse market performance, whilst also being able to work with markets data. Please note we are not looking for data analysts or 'technical' people, the client has a back office that does this... in this role you are working directly with Heads of Product and different business lines in a stimulating and intellectually challenging environment to think about the future of these stakeholders' businesses. With a team of 80 in London, this offers the chance to work in a completely different culture, whilst still delivering work for major banks and using the knowledge you will have learnt on a graduate programme or in another capacity.
One of the main products the firm has developed is a revenue benchmarking tool, bought by over 20 of the major 30 banks. This analyses revenue performance looking at many different metrics. You will have a hand in market sizing, data strategy discussions and help to build a broader relationship with banks across different products.
We are looking for:
1. Tier 1 Global Markets knowledge - ideally 2 or more product areas, though we are flexible - we have openings currently aligned to Global Markets and ECM/DCM/M&A in IB; we might also consider institutional banking backgrounds across broad cash management and trade finance products for another team
2. Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
3. Attention to detail - in presentations and written material in particular; the former CEO was ex-McKinsey and instilled a culture of excellence around presentations
4. An engaging personality - this is a collegiate environment and a small, close knit team - cultural fit is really important... be yourself!
5. Ambition to improve and grow, coupled with a humble approach supporting others to be the best they can be
6. People that enjoy working with data - good skills with Excel
The firm operates a 3 days 'in the office' policy with 1-2 days from home.
Salary includes base (range 70-95K) and bonus (20-30% average, topping at over 50%). At the top end of salary we are looking for those who have strong management capability for senior stakeholders and potentially broader product knowledge vs. the lower end of the range.
