Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

 The Specialist, RD Grants and Reporting is responsible for supporting fundraising efforts across multiple channels at International Medical Corps, with a focus on foundation, corporate and organizational giving. 
The RD Grants and Reporting Specialist (GRS) will be a key member of the Resource Development (RD) team and wider Institutional Advancement department Works with and supports staff across all departments to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, foundation and corporate donors and prospects. Work with technical, operational, headquarters, and field-based teams to write proposals and reports, draft correspondence and communication for donors and prospects, develop presentations and materials that communicate International Medical Corps' expertise and programmatic strengths, and develop fundraising and partnering strategies. The RD GRS will also support International Medical Corps' executive and senior staff in the preparation of their institutional external meetings and manage a portfolio of grants. This position will be based at one of International Medical Corps’ headquarters locations.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Builds and maintains the knowledge and expertise needed to develop and execute (in partnership with Communications) donor communication materials, including letters of inquiry, concept notes, proposals, presentations, updates, emails and more.
•    Collaborates with all departments to identify opportunities for corporate and foundation engagement, and stewards relationships before, during and after funding.
•    Represents Resource Development and the broader Institutional Advancement department on regional platforms, routine country program calls, and with other internal working groups as needed or assigned.
•    Manages special projects that support the growth of the Resource Development department and its multi-year strategy, as needed or assigned; projects may include developing new and/or improving tools and resources, procedures and processes, etc.
•    Assures compliance with all operational and donor policies and regulations.
•    In collaboration with all departments, regional desks and field staff as appropriate, develops concept notes, proposals and reports, including writing, editing, and formatting; predicts and prevents unnecessary bottlenecks in proposal and report development by staying abreast of all proposal components; communicates challenges as they arise; and identifies and implements solutions as needed.
•    In conjunction with the senior Institutional Advancement and other key staff, co-leads and/or contributes to and participates in the development of strategy, pitch materials and talking points for private donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship; and leads or co-leads the development of strategies for continued engagement and cultivation of corporate and foundation donors and prospects.
•    Conducts research of prospective donors for outreach and communications as needed.
•    Supports administrative functions such as maintaining the Resource Development donor dashboard, updating the Resource Development tracking tables, taking meeting minutes and comparable duties.
•    Leads cross departmental-related projects, such as regular communications with field/desks as well as globalgiving org. and similar venues that bridge fundraising, social media and communications as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•    Typically, a Bachelor’s degree in a related area. Advanced degree desirable. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
•    Typically, 7+ years of relevant and progressive employment experience with grant-writing, program development, and/or communications required
•    Demonstrated skill in coordinating, facilitating, and managing complex processes with diverse team members
•    Experience with an international health or humanitarian organization, or related background
•    Demonstrated strategic thinking, creativity, problem-solving ability, and analytical skills
•    Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills 
•    Fluency in written and spoken English essential
•    Fluency in French or Arabic desirable
 

SALARY RANGE: Global positions advertised by the US Office salary ranges typically are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location..
