Job description

We are recruiting for a Group Procurement Officer on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract. In this key role you will support the Procurement Category Managers and Director of Commercial Operations in coordinating and supporting the delivery of complex, business critical, sourcing projects across a broad range of Product, Services, and Infrastructure contracts for City & Guilds.

This role will support City & Guilds with its cost-saving and One City & Guilds initiatives, embracing newly emerging, and enhancing, existing, supplier relationships to improve customer experience to manage and deliver all procurement projects.

You will need be based in the UK working on a hybrid basis with a mix of home and our London office (approx 1 day per week)

This appointment will be made on merit.

About the role

As Group Procurement Officer, you will support and lead on delivering BAU procurement exercises, establishing strong relationships across the business with procurement and negotiate with suppliers to deliver value for money initiatives for City & Guilds.

You will be required to support embedding and cascading procurement best practice and process management across City & Guilds.

Our successful candidate will develop and implement sourcing strategies that deliver on the agreed financial targets.

You will support the drafting and advisory work on tender documentation, specifications, and pricing schedules.

We would expect you to support and coordinate the evaluation of bids based on financial and non-financial criteria coordinating and documenting the process to maintain robust and transparent records and quick turnarounds.

About you

You will have responsibility for a business-critical portfolio of Group Procurement projects, you will be tasked with developing and delivering cutting edge procurement, strategic sourcing and category management solutions, operating as an internal business partner to key stakeholders.

You will have demonstrable Procurement experience gained in a fast-paced transformational environment. You will also have experience of contract management and supporting value for money initiatives across a fast-paced commercial organisation.

Our successful candidate will demonstrate a consultative approach to engaging, influencing, and supporting key stakeholders through the contracting life cycle (engagement, in term and end of term).

As Group Procurement Officer, you will bring proven experience of providing highly effective supplier management and development and managing operational and contract process.

You are curious and inquisitive in nature and will be able to seek new ways of driving commercial value and cost optimisation across the business.
