The Team
We are recruiting a Hardware Manager to work as part of the development team in Hitachi Vantara Engineering, responsible for designing, developing, and testing. The Hitachi NAS Platform product ( https://www.hitachivantara.com/en-us/products/storage/network-attached-storage-platform.html). The team meets at the office regularly, so regular attendance is expected to ensure active participation and collaboration.
What You'll Be Doing
You will oversee the end-to-end process of crafting top-tier hardware products, playing a pivotal role in a diverse, cross-functional team comprising software engineers, testers, and FPGA development experts. Your responsibilities will span managing the design, development, and testing phases of prioritized projects. This entails addressing challenges of varying complexity, and designing and implementing hardware solutions, all while upholding stringent quality standards. Your background should demonstrate a track record of delivering products with intricate hardware designs and a comprehensive grasp of the entire hardware design life cycle. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ownership, management, and prioritisation of the hardware team's backlog of work
- Product planning, and interaction with internal and external teams (e.g. contract electronics manufacturer, supply chain, and vendors)
- Managing new project introduction including project spend, prototype build plans and ramp to production
- Managing product lifecycle and sustaining activities for released project
What You Bring To The Team
- 5+ years of robust hardware engineering expertise
- Proficiency in technical project management, adept at setting and tracking schedules and milestones
- Skills in stakeholder management, ensuring alignment and satisfaction throughout projects
- Capability of reporting project status to director and executive-level stakeholders
- Experience in leading cross-functional team meetings, fostering collaboration and driving results
