Head of Business Development

About Our Client:

Due to our client’s successful growth and expansion, they are looking to further expand their team by hiring a dynamic and ambitious individual for the newly created role of Head of Business Development. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the drive to secure profitable sales and contribute to the company's strategic growth.

Role Purpose:

As the Head of Business Development, you will be a key player in achieving business targets and will work closely with the sales team to grow the business. You will primarily focus on developing industry contacts, ranging from framework and procurement managers in large organizations to surveyors in private consultancy practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain existing relationships within the industry.

Cultivate new relationships to open revenue streams in line with company targets.

Deliver sales targets in both value and volume.

Own and develop project tracking and the CRM database.

Implement and comply with standard business procedures, including customer pricing and complaints management.

Maintain an awareness of the broader business and service offerings, communicating these to clients and customers as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in the construction/building environment sector.

Proven track record in Business Development and account management.

Strong communication and influencing skills.

Ability to build and develop relationships with clients.

Excellent judgment and negotiation skills.

Capacity to manage a high workload with a flexible approach.

Exceptional presentation skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within and outside the organization.

Motivation to continuously improve knowledge of industry changes and developments.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have at least 10+ years of experience in a similar role and a strong current knowledge of the construction industry. A strong reputation within the industry is essential. This role is suited to a driven individual who is motivated to learn and develop further. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate, present, and influence key stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and executives.
