Job Title: Head of Finance
Location: Reading (Berkshire)
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 + Package
The CFO Practice has been exclusively mandated to hire a Head of Finance for a VC-backed enterprise SaaS business based in the Thames Valley that is transforming global retail and government B2B digital supply chains. With a turnover of £5m that has grown by 150% in three years, the business will soon become EBIDTA positive and expand into the US and European markets over the next 12-24 months.
Reporting directly to the CFOO, the Head of Finance will play a pivotal role in steering the company's financial landscape. This strategic position encompasses comprehensive financial responsibilities, contributing to future fundraising efforts, and actively shaping the company's trajectory.
Main Responsibilities
Strategy/ FP&A:
- Develop and optimise company and departmental budgets.
- Manage runway and burn rate responsibilities, modelling financial scenarios.
- Contribute to pricing strategy, general commercial strategy and the series-B fundraise.
- Conduct cost and revenue analysis, identifying growth opportunities and cost reduction strategies.
- Implement strategies to minimize FX risks.
- Identify KPIs and measure progress against them.
Reporting/Accounting:
- Prepare board decks, materials, and handle all correspondence and minutes distribution.
- Attend board meetings and provide requested data to investors.
- Own SaaS metrics, steering and advising on appropriate metrics and best practices in SaaS KPIs.
- Manage End of Year Accounts.
- Oversee annual audits and local audits.
Stakeholder and Team Management:
- Manage relationships with corporate legal partners, accounting partners, and tax advisers.
- Handle investor relations, providing scheduled updates and fulfilling reporting requests.
- Lead a team, including a Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.
- Collaborate with the Risk committee to identify risks and support junior resource growth.
Background of person
- A hands-on finance leader with start-up or scale-up experience ideally from the B2B Enterprise SaaS space
- Strong Commercial & FP&A skills and someone with a natural enthusiasm for business partnering across the organisation is essential.
