To help take advantage of this opportunity we are looking for a dynamic Head of Service to have an influential role in the delivery of some ground-breaking projects and continuing the improvement journey for our essential services.

Bassetlaw has been selected as the future home for the UKAEA's STEP prototype fusion energy plant, a globally significant project that will bring unprecedented levels of investment into the area. Added to this, we have successfully secured significant Government investment totalling £62m to deliver a programme of regeneration projects.

Our recently adopted Vision 2040 provides a clear set of priorities to direct our resources where they will have the biggest impact and to build on our legacy of energy production, manufacturing and logistics to become the greenest, most sustainable district in which to live and work

We are looking for an innovative and positive individual, with good people skills, to help take the Council forward to our next phase of the organisation’s development.

You will act as the Council’s Deputy Section 151 Officer and lead on a wide range of services within the Finance and Property section. A suitably qualified and experienced accountant (preferably CIPFA), this is an ideal position for an ambitious candidate to move into a more strategic role.
