Apointe Ltd are in search for an experienced Head of Finance for a growing tech company in Reading. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and driven individual to take on the leadership responsibilities within the finance department.
The role plays a key part in leading a finance team to drive performance through business partnering, commercial decision support, risk analysis and strengthening financial planning and reporting.
This Head of Finance position involves working with the CFO, Finance Team and regional resource to deliver the following:
- Responsible for delivering monthly management reporting and supporting the divisional leads with budgeting, performance reporting and analysis.
- Lead all financial planning and analysis activities, supporting and constructively challenging stakeholder heads to drive business performance.
- Business partnering with key stakeholders, providing all commercial finance insight to drive companywide operational efficiency and cost optimisation.
- Responsible for delivering accurate and concise interim and full year financial results within reporting timeframes, including all localised statutory reporting and audit processes.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives.
- Ownership of cash and treasury management; oversee 12 week rolling cashflow forecast, managing cashflows risks to maximise returns where possible.
- Monitor effective policies and practices to manage risk and to ensure the companies foreign exchange and tax exposure is minimised.
- Manage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, advisors and other key stakeholders.
- Support the CFO with the design, administration, and management of various share plans and incentive schemes.
- Develop appropriate Group Accounting policies that are in line with latest accounting practice, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Lead continuous improvement of systems and finance procedures.
- Provide any other adhoc support as required, such as, acquisition due diligence and integration etc.
- Develop the team to deliver the above ensuring that team members are supported, developed and challenged in their roles to deliver a best-in-class finance team.
Must have:
- Qualified Accountant with experience working in a fast growing multinational SME.
- Management of a strong control environment
- Ability to simplify and develop processes
- Experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics platforms and strong reporting skills (Excel, Jet, Power BI ideally)
- Clear and rationale communication based on facts that provide evidence to support a chosen route.
- Flexible and resilient with the ability to manage multiple deliverables at any one time.
- Works effectively under pressure and can prioritise as required to meet key deliverables.
- Strong team player who can operate across functions and regions and is prepared to "roll up their sleeves" as required.
- Self-starter attitude with a willingness to dig into detail and challenge the status quo. Confident in ability to make changes to existing processes as appropriate and bring others along with those changes.
- Excellent communication to ensure all relevant parties are clear on the way forward.
- Strong team management and ability to delegate and develop others to bring the best out of the Finance team.
Desirable:
- Experience working in SaaS and/or Professional Services environment
- Understanding of business metrics and drivers that could improve functional performance
- Understand What Good Looks Like and willing to take direction and challenge as appropriate.
