Responsibilities
The main purpose of the role is to oversee the management of Financial Crime risks and hold the regulatory function of SMF 17 / MLRO for the two regulated entities G10 Capital Limited and Sapia Partners LLP.
In particular:
  • Responsible for the review and maintenance of the Firms' anti-money laundering systems and controls to identify, assess, monitor and manage the money laundering risk through periodic assessments
  • Actively participate in the Firms' various Committees as MLRO and subject matter expert
  • Review PEP alerts to conduct initial and ongoing enhanced due diligence where appropriate
  • Review suspected money laundering activity and where appropriate, submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) to the National Crime Agency (NCA)
  • Preparing bi-annual MLRO Reports to the Firms' Boards
  • Oversight of the Firms' inbound and outbound due diligence processes regarding the Firms' counterparties
  • Act as a central point of contact for Financial Crime and AML queries, providing advice and guidance to all internal stakeholders
  • Keeping abreast with UK, EU and international developments in AML legislation, Sanctions and Guidance from bodies such as HM Treasury, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the Joint Money Laundering Steering Group (JMLSG)
  • Provision of anti-Financial Crime training to Staff and Appointed Representatives
  • Maintaining records of information and documentation relating to the Firms' anti-Financial Crime systems and controls
  • Relationship building across the wider IQ-EQ group on anti-Financial Crime matters and ensuring that group policies and standards are adopted within RegCom
  • Providing appropriate MI to various fora including Boards
  • Managing the staff within the Financial Crime team (currently 2)

Qualifications
Qualifications / required experience
  • Educated to degree level
  • Significant demonstrable experience of managing anti-Financial Crime processes at an FCA regulated firm, ideally with a funds focus, or alternatively with a leading professional services firm. Passion for prevention of Financial Crime
  • Previous MLRO or Deputy MLRO designation (ideal but not essential)
  • Great teamwork and strong communication skills
  • Hands on approach and attention to detail
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills
