Head of Financial Planning & Analysis

About the opportunity:

We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a dynamic and fast-growing organisation specialising in energy and sustainability technology.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly analytical and strategic finance professional to join their small team in a newly created Head of Financial Planning and Analysis role.  

The successful Head of FP&A will form part of the senior management team and play a crucial role in developing robust financial analysis and strategic insights to support decision-making and drive business growth.

This is a high-impact role responsible for managing the Financial Planning and analysis functions, including budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, financial analysis, and strategic cash management.

You will work collaboratively with the Financial Controller and other internal stakeholders to identify and assess business opportunities, drive efficiency, and improve financial performance. You will be a key contributor to the formulation of business strategies.

You will be tasked with preparing and presenting financial reports and strategic plans to the board of directors, providing insights on financial trends and company performance to inform board decisions. Excellent communication and presentation skills are imperative, along with the ability to articulate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be highly results-driven with extensive experience in Financial Planning and analysis. We are looking for a dynamic leader with an analytical mindset and strong business acumen, who can effectively influence decision-making and drive continuous improvement in financial processes.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Substantial experience within a senior FP&A role.
• Hold a relevant degree and accounting qualification.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience with financial systems and software.
• Proven leadership and team management abilities.
• Highly innovative with a passion for continuous improvement.

• A competitive salary of circa £75,000 - £85,000 per annum dependent on skills, knowledge, and experience.
