Head Of Financial Reporting & Control

Our client, a wholly owned subsidiary of a FTSE 250 business is looking to hire an interim Head of Financial Reporting & Control, based in Central London. This is a hybrid role which requires 2 days per week in the office.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Control, the Head of Financial Reporting and Control is a pivotal member of the finance senior leadership team. The role has key stakeholder relationships with senior leaders across the business and with Board and Audit Committee members. The role will work closely with fellow Financial Control Leadership Team members across the Heads of Transactions, Treasury, Systems and Transformation.

The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified with experience of working in a regulated business. Previous Financial Controller experience is essential with deep experience across all aspects of Financial Reporting and close activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Control
• Oversight of the Financial Control Team and direct line management of the Financial Controller and Finance Manager
• Each direct report is supported by onshore/nearshore team members.
• Accountable for the efficient operation, and where possible the further development of the Financial control environment
• Responsible for the accurate and timely recording of data in the Financial Systems and ensure a clear reconciliation to the reporting and regulatory data held within FPT Planning system
• Lead on the regular updating of Group budget
• Support the wider Financial Control team as they liaise with external customers, suppliers and Regulatory bodies
• Accountable for setting regulatory pricing strategy, structure and methodology
• Oversight of Regulatory forecasting models
• Lead on the oversight and monitoring of regulatory income streams and ensure the accurate and timely forecasting and reporting to Group
• Collaborate with senior leadership team colleagues across Commercial Finance and FP&A to continually assess the controls and processes and areas for improvement, automation and efficiency gains.
• Bring a proven track history of process and control excellence to further develop process and controls.

Essential requirements:

• ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent, minimum 8 years PQE with previous experience in a senior Financial Controller role;
• Management of Director level relationships across the business;
• Strong SAP system expertise;
• Operational oversight and development of a best-in-class control environment
• Experienced at working in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders and in collaborating with multi-functional teams.

Desirable:

• Experience of working in a regulated environment
• Experience in a Programme focused business and industry experience across the energy, technology or telecommunications sectors
