Position: Head of Financial Reporting
Location: Leeds
Reporting directly to the UK Group Finance Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely Financial Reporting, compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and providing valuable financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation/Review of Internal and External Reporting
- Lead the preparation and review of Financial reports, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Ownership of Group Consolidation Model
- Manage and maintain the Group consolidation model ensuring accurate and consistent Financial Reporting and producing high-quality group statutory and investor reporting.
- Oversee the monthly group reporting process and compile comprehensive reporting packs.
Technical Accounting
- Provide expertise in technical accounting matters (including corporate acquisition accounting), ensuring their proper implementation within the organisation.
Regulatory Reporting
- Oversee the production of accurate UK regulatory prudential reporting and collaborate with the Head of FP&A to ensure accurate forecasting of compliance with all UK prudential requirements.
Audit Management
- Manage day-to-day interactions with external auditors during the audit process, ensuring audit requests are responded to promptly and deadlines are met.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
- Extensive experience in Financial Reporting, including a strong understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP
- Previous experience managing audits and interacting with external auditors.
- Proven ability to prepare and review statutory accounts, regulatory reporting, and investor reporting.
- A track record of technical accounting expertise, especially in corporate acquisition accounting.
- Familiarity with tax compliance and reporting and an understanding of tax strategies and their impact on Financial Reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
