Job Type: Temporary 6 month contract
Day Rate: Negotiable (Inside IR35/Umbrella)
What is the role?
The role will lead on the development and implementation of workforce related policy, process and practices in line with strategic direction and workforce strategy, shaping best practice and informing workforce planning, retention and positive management of the workforce, ensuring a positive employment offer.
To lead, manage and provide direction to the Human Resources services of resourcing, payroll, pensions, HR systems and workforce information, HR Advisory, JE and HR Policy.
How can you help?
- Work with the Assistant Director of HR&OD and the Head of OD to develop a Workforce Strategy and People plan that supports the Council to deliver on the Corporate Plan
- Review the current capacity and alignment of HR&OD resource and review current HR&OD priorities and objectives, to ensure the service contributes to the workforce change agenda
- Lead the development of an HR Employment Contact Centre for staff, managers, members and customer organisations ensuring high performance and customer focused processes for recruitment, on-boarding, payroll, pensions and HR systems
- Work with the Head of OD to lead on the development of a new performance framework, including HR policies and processes, that support a more “restorative” approach to discipline, grievance and performance management practices
