Our client based in North London are looking to appoint of Head of Logistics to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a really exciting opportunity to help a rapidly growing business expand into new global markets.
General Duties:
• Responsible for all company logistics, both domestic and international. This includes all inbound and outbound deliveries.
• Work with the Head of Production Planning & Procurement to ensure that customer service levels are always outstanding.
• Manage incoming orders and plan logistics in line with customer orders, lead times and the production plan
• Book-in transportation for orders in line with stock availability, checking that deliveries are on time / arrived and communicating internally to Production Planning/Procurement/Sales and with counterparts at suppliers, customers and 3PL partners any delays / late deliveries
• Manage and optimize logistics-related costs, including managing all 3PL relationships (including off-site storage) to achieve maximum cost-effectiveness. Closely monitoring expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing measures to minimize expenses without compromising quality of service. Approving invoices for deliveries and storage.
• Act as final set of eyes on the shipment of products, so need to sign off that all such products/case boxes/pallets are compliant with all specifications for that customer
• Regular meetings with warehouse manager to manage customer orders, timings, stock availability, etc. Develop and implement logistics strategies and identify opportunities for improvement and formulate plans to optimize the logistics function.
• Responsible for ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of export shipments including working with other departments to ensure there are no delays, shortages or paperwork issues
• Work closely with warehouse manager and Planning to manage frozen storage space for ease of movement and customer order fulfilment
• Streamline and optimize logistics operations, such as order management, order fulfilment, shipping, and delivery. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implement industry best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction
• Maintain a database of login details for multiple dispatch related websites, records of mandatory paperwork for each customer, and booking-in processes, customer requirements and guidelines etc (SOPs)
Requirements:
• Significant cold chain logistics experience
• Experience in exporting at scale into market-leading stocklists and distributors globally
• Experience in leading a team and working with key stakeholders
