This is an exciting time to join us at the City of Doncaster Council as we seek to grow our local sufficiency and planning for Children in Care and care leavers to deliver on our vision of offering our children local homes and permanency. We seeking to appoint to two Head of Service roles one supporting the further growth of our residential and leaving care service and the second to continue developing our Children in Care and Fostering Services.
Our Head of Service for Children in Residential and Care Leavers needs to possess strong inspirational leadership skills. We have an ambitious development programme, aimed at delivering the best outcomes for all Children in Care and leaving care in Doncaster. This includes shaping residential development to meet need and to be aspirational for our future care leavers.
Our Head of Service for Children in Care and Fostering needs to possess strong inspirational leadership skills. We are passionate about our commitment to care for children close to their families, networks and community and we are looking for a leader who is innovative, solution focused and able to continue to deliver best outcomes.
We are seeking leaders who can meet the challenge through sustainable, innovative, and creative ways of working, and who have a clear passion for providing excellent services that support and safeguard children when needed. You will be able to establish and develop strong and effective partnerships and your commitment to working with others is critical. You will need to be able to provide support and challenge and bring negotiating and influencing skills.
You will work in partnership with the Strategic Leads and Heads of Service group to ensure there is a whole system approach to safeguarding children and improve their outcomes. You will have strategic and overall responsibility for ensuring that assessments and plans for Children in Care and care leavers are timely, appropriate to their needs and deliver improved outcomes and to secure permanence, so they experience good quality family life. You will be ambitious for our Children and support partners to be a corporate parent that drives our aspirations.
What about you?
This role is ideal for a motivated, dedicated individual with significant experience in residential and or Children’s Social Care social care, with a true passion for devising, developing and providing services which support Children inin Care and care leavers.
We are looking for people with significant experience in a minimum of one of the areas of Service they will be manage with the ability to evidence transferable knowledge in the remaining key areas.
