Our Water Resources Management Planning team is responsible for the plan to address the company’s most fundamental challenge – ensuring we have sufficient water supplies to meet future demand. This is at the core of what we do, ensuring resilient supplies whilst balancing the needs of the natural environment and affordability.
In leading the team, the role will face a range of stimulating technical challenges, finding the best approaches to reduce demand and access new, more sustainable supplies. The plans will use adaptive planning to account for risks and uncertainties, for example from climate change and population growth. This will be achieved through the production and delivery of our statutory Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) and associated annual reporting.
You will have responsibility for the line management of the team and will co-ordinate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have overall responsibility for the technical management of our supply demand forecasts and strategy. You will also be asked to actively participate and contribute to Affinity Water’s involvement in regional water resource planning. This role provides an opportunity to build and develop the team in readiness for the 2029 WRMP submission and oversight of WRMP24 public enquiry as required, with appropriate external technical support.
