The role
We are looking for Head Veterinary Nurse for our fantastic practice based in Lewisham.
The role will involve all aspects of nursing as well as the day-to-day running of the practice. This position provides you with the opportunity to develop nursing clinics and use your initiative to promote new ideas; more responsibilities will form part of this role with full support being provided by the nursing team.
As a Head Veterinary Nurse, you will be responsible for a variety of nursing duties as well as sharing best practice with your team and helping to support and develop the student nurses in your practice.
All of our Head Nurses are provided with dedicated support with other duties, such as recruitment and Health and Safety. While there are still administration duties involved in your role, this support will allow you to spend more time managing your team and doing what you love, nursing!
This role will cover 40 hours a week and will be part of a 1:5 weekend rota.

Key accountabilities
You must be a Veterinary Nurse who is registered with the RCVS.
Ideally, you will have some leadership experience although training and support is provided to RVNs looking for a senior role
Clinical coach/supervisor award preferred but not essential as training will be provided and funded
Driving license preferred but not essential.

The Veterinary practice - Medivet Lewisham is on Lee high road in the London Borough of Lewisham. The practice is just off the A205 and A21. Lewisham Station and Lewisham high street are walking distance, making it an easy commute with great transport links in and out of central London.
The successful candidate will be joining a small team which consist of an experienced Veterinary Surgeon and three support team members. The practice has been recognised to support and train student Veterinary Nurses which the Head Veterinary Nurse will be encourage to clinical coach/supervise once trained. Facilities include digital x-ray, in-house laboratory analysers and a large separate operating theatre with local access to all the services available across the entire Medivet group with 24hr support from our hospital in Beckenham.
