The Opportunity

Medivet Mansfield Cottage is a well-established practice and is part of the Enfield 24 hour hospital region. The team are friendly and supportive and have an experienced Lead Vet in practice.

The practice also has a lovely client base who appreciate the personal and exceptional standard of care we provide.

The team work together to review and improve protocols and this position will involve all aspects of nursing such as assisting the Veterinary Surgeons in daily duties as well as the leading the nursing team.

We are looking for someone who is keen to support and develop our Student Nurses, junior RVNs and Care Assistants and is not afraid to get stuck in and to lead by example. 

The practice is in a great location with access to a train station (5 minute walk) which leads straight into London Liverpool Street.

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:

  • Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.
  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Lead, manage and promote nurse led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, implementing and complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Inspire your team, sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes.
  • Engage, coach and develop your team.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Able to confidently lead a clinical team.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture through nurse clinics and nurse consultations.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
