My client is currently in the market for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team and work on a large Highways project.

What will you be doing?
We have a great opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to work on a major highways project in Southampton. You will be responsible for facilitating compliance with legislative, corporate and other requirements in relation to Health and Safety as well as assisting in the co-ordination of all activities related to the implementation, development and maintenance of the Safety Management Systems (SMS) for the project.
Essential:
- Previous highways project experience as a Health and Safety Manager is a must
- NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, or equivalent
- Membership of relevant professional institution (e.g., Tech IOSH or above).
- Environmental qualification (IEMA or equivalent).
- Auditing qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong experience in heavy civils / earthworks projects
- Good presentation, written, analytical and IT skills.
- Training and presentation experience throughout all levels of an organisation.
- A working knowledge of current and impending health & safety legislation
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to guide and educate/train at all levels
- Self-confidence to build strong working relationships internally and externally
- Demonstrable achievement in a similar role
