Health Care Assistant The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player who strives to deliver a high standard of care. You will have experience in Health Care Assistant duties, including, phlebotomy. Location: Cricklade Surgery, Cricklade, Swindon, Wiltshire SN6 6AE Responsibilities Patients will be seen for: Phlebotomy,ECG Dressings, Removal of sutures, Health Checks, B12/Influenza/Pneumonia vaccines, Assisting minor surgery, Urine testing, Chaperoning patients, Vaccine/cold chain storage monitoring and recording Personal Development To understand own responsibilities and accountability on the delivery of care To participate in Clinical Governance activities and engage with educational opportunities To participate in the planning and implementation of change within own area of responsibility To participate in any ongoing training required for the role Team Working To work appropriately with other members of the nursing team to ensure good patient care, adherence to protocols and procedures and implementation of change when necessary To attend meetings as appropriate To work with other team members to ensure the implementation of the Quality & Outcomes Framework Service Delivery To support the smooth operation of the nursing team. This will include planning for and providing cover for holidays, study leave and sickness.
To ensure correct use of medical equipment, report problems and ask for training if needed To take on any responsibilities as delegated by the Nurse Manager. These may include but are not limited to; Health & Safety tasks Stock checks Checking and review of medical equipment in rooms Ordering and maintaining stocks of drugs and supplies Other appropriate tasks The practice places great emphasis on team working and aims to foster good relationships throughout the team. All staff are encouraged to attend regular staff meetings and take part in other activities important to practice life.
