Overview:
We are seeking dedicated Healthcare Assistant, Live-in Carers, Overnight Carers and Respite Carers to join our team in providing quality care to patients in various healthcare settings.
Duties:
- Personal Care: Assisting with personal hygiene such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. This is fundamental to maintaining the dignity and comfort of the individual.
- Medication Management: Ensuring that the individual takes their prescribed medications at the correct times. This may also include monitoring side effects and keeping records.
- Meal Preparation: Cooking meals, taking into account any dietary restrictions or preferences. Nutrition is particularly important for health and wellbeing, so meals need to be balanced and appropriate for the care recipient’s health conditions.
- Mobility Assistance: Helping the individual move around the home or assisting with transfers from bed to wheelchair. This also includes aiding with exercises or physiotherapy routines as prescribed.
- Housekeeping: Performing light household duties such as cleaning, laundry, and general maintenance of the living areas. The environment needs to be kept safe and clean to prevent accidents and maintain hygiene.
- Companionship: Providing social interaction and companionship. This can include activities like reading, playing games, or simply engaging in conversation. It's important to support the mental and emotional wellbeing of the individual.
- Errands and Appointments: Managing appointments with doctors, therapists, or other professionals, and providing transportation to these appointments. Also, running errands such as grocery shopping or collecting prescriptions.
- Emergency Response: Being prepared to handle any emergencies that might arise, including administering first aid or contacting emergency services.
- Monitoring Changes: Observing any changes in the individual's physical condition or emotional state and reporting these to family members or healthcare professionals. This is crucial for timely interventions in case health issues worsen or new concerns arise.
- Night-Time Care: Depending on the needs of the individual, night-time care might also be required, which could include assisting with toileting during the night and helping manage sleep disturbances.
Requirements:
- Proficient in English language for effective communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Possess basic IT skills for documentation purposes.
- Valid driver's license for appointment and activity chaperon.
