The role
As a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll manage the Health, Safety and Environment (HS and E) risks and implementing the requirements of company (HS and E) standards by cooperation and collaboration with operational management teams and site staff across the Defence Equipment Business Unit sites.

Day to day, you'll predominately work at Warminster giving advice to Site Managers and management team on how to manage Health and Safety, relay any policy updates, conduct audits and risk assessments, investigate accidents and health related complaints along with undertaking any inductions for new starters to site. You will also:

• Work with site Managers and operational staff to ensure compliance with current legislation and customer Joint Service Publications and Babcock HS and E polices and processes through site reviews and audits and providing feedback to operations upon how to meet Babcock HSE improvements
• Provide expert advice to the contracts and site on how to implement current and future Health, Safety& Environmental legislation, and company policies and standards
• Review site risk controls and HSE safety arrangements and provide sensible and competent guidance to operations to ensure their HS and E arrangements are fit for purpose
• Review operations and identify opportunities in collaboration with operations to improve Risk controls

This is a full-time role that will be predominately based at Warminster. Travel between other sites will be required however, a pool or hire car will be available for use. You will be expected to work onsite four days per week and the option to work from home on a Friday.

Essential experience of the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor:

• Proven experience in a HS&E advisor role preferably engineering or high-risk industry
• Effectively prioritise work to deliver to timescales

Qualifications for the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor:

• Certificate (L3) in Health and Safety / HS and E or equivalent qualification
• Membership of IOSH or equivalent professional body at Technical or greater grade (e.g. Tech IOSH)
• Full UK Driving Licence

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
