Health & Safety Manager

First Task Professional are delighted to be working on behalf of our client, a specialist Fit Out contractor who are busy throughout the UK, to recruit for a Health & Safety Manager for their Warrington Office.

This role will involve travel mainly within the North of England and Midlands areas.

You will provide leadership, strategic and operational guidance supporting the project delivery teams and support project management delivery in the development of the HSE strategy in line with the overall HSE objectives and targets set by the Executive Director and Group HSE Manager.

The successful candidate will agree with the project management teams how to achieve all the contractual standards required for the main deliverables and provide support to achieve the contractual objectives & targets.

You will also take the lead for proactive and reactive monitoring to ensure compliance with all legal and other requirements and ensure the timely completion of preventative and corrective actions.

Experience & Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma NVQ / SNVQ Level 4 or above.
• Graduate / Technical Membership of IOSH or IIRSM.
• A minimum 10 years experience in a construction environment
• Lead / Internal Auditor: ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 ISO 9001 certified (desirable).
• Working knowledge of occupational health, safety and environmental legislation and industry best practice with demonstrable pragmatic ability and experience.
• Ability to train, educate and motivate Project Management Teams on occupational safety.
• Ability to analyse information and deliver sustainable actions of improvement.
• Strong people skills, with previous experience of working in a team of Professionals and able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills with the ability to persuade and influence others effectively.
