Health & Safety Manager - Requirements
- Previous experience gained within a fast-paced logistics/retail/ warehouse environment.
- Excellent influencing and communication skills with a resilient temperament.
- Ability to work flexibly where needed as this is a 24-hour operation.
- Results focussed, capable of handling multiple priorities and adapting to change.
- NEBOSH Certificate level or equivalent
- Up to date knowledge of UK H&S Legislation
- Able to demonstrate a history of driving significant change within an organisation
Health & Safety Manager - Responsibilities
- Ensuring delivery of the Health and Safety objectives both directly and through supervision of the site management team.
- Consistently review and audit the site implementing change where needed, with adaptations to equipment, practice and processes.
- Create and implement strategies to organise work systems to reduce H&S risks
- Ensure robust reporting practice with management information and statistics provided to internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify areas for improvement, proactively addressing continuous improvement.
- Work with employee representatives to maintain a positive relationship and implement a climate of Safety and minimising risk at all times.
- Keep up to date with legislation and policy changes and ensuring compliance.
- Provide authoritative advice and guidance on H & S matters
- Responsible for ensuring all training is in line with legislative requirements and company best practice.
- Ensure the site management team are fully equipped to investigate all accidents and incident and make proactive changes to site working practice.
