Habitats & Heritage is seeking two officers as part of our exciting new National Lottery Heritage Fund project, Burton: Exploring without Boundaries, which focuses on the Grade II* Burton Mausoleum. Burton: Exploring without Boundaries seeks to re-evaluate Sir Richard Burton and Victorian exploration at the height of the British Empire, in particular addressing his relationship with Islam. It further seeks to improve the setting of the heritage asset, including accessibility to the building and the quality of the surrounding environment.
We are looking for a Conservation & Interpretation Officer who will oversee the conservation and re-opening of the mausoleum, establish a maintenance programme and deliver a research project. They will work alongside an Outreach & Education Officer, who will be responsible for creating and delivering an educational programme designed for Key Stages 3-5, and organising events with a range of stakeholders.
The post holders will be passionate about heritage, education and engagement. Both officers will be responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers, producing engagement material and project management. They will work with local communities and organisations, producing information and events for diverse audiences.
Application deadline: 21st May, 12pm
