Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Highways Support Officer to join Wakefield Council’s Network Management Team on an initial 6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Duties:
- Assessing and granting applications to work on or near the highway in close liaison with colleagues from the Network Management Team, officers in other service areas, and private bodies
- Ensuring compliance of all contractors and internal resources are aligned to current legislation
- Inputting traffic management and control implications on the highways network in the ICT systems
- Providing advice and instruction following advice from the Network Management Coordinators, Inspectors, and Managers
- Inputting details of all activities associated with private and public events taking place within the highway on the electronic systems
- Responding to incoming enquiries from other colleagues and members of the public
- Receiving, reviewing and processing temporary Traffic Regulation Order applications relating to works/events on the highways
- Receiving and inputting Temporary Traffic Light applications
Requirements:
- Previous experience of working in a Highways or Network Management Team
- Knowledge of Permit Schemes, Traffic Management Act 2004, or NRASWA
- Ability to read and understand mapping and plans associated with Highway activities
