WHAT TO EXPECT
With the rapid increase in digital user experiences in the automotive sector – China being a prime example, JLR needs to strengthen and consolidate our HMI delivery to position us to respond to the changing market expectations and step changes we need to deliver to the Customer Experience.
This role will lead the timely delivery of HMI across all on-vehicle displays.
A key focus area is to drive all HMI design and Cockpit Domain implementation teams to ensure the successful delivery of in car digital HMI throughout product life cycle.
This will be a highly cross functional activity with a great level of complexity that requires engagement across the DPP, Customer Experience, Design, and Human Factors team, as well as other Tech Centres that rely on digital HMI to realise their functionality.
A crucial aspect of this role is to lead the roadmap for onboard HMI development across all of our brands and ensure that the systems and designs developed meet the needs of functional safety, cyber security, as well as providing a Modern Luxury experience.
THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership of the inputs (Design, Human Factors, Systems) on time, to the right quality
- Responsible for maximising commonality / consistency across all the Digital touch points
- Ensuring developed solutions meet the required Functional Safety, Cyber Security, and PII requirements
- Responsible for developing Sub-System / Software requirements in conjunction with System Owners for onwards software implementation
- Drive efficiencies into the HMI & Systems workflow and toolchain
- Define and harmonise the end-to-end process across the development
- Lead the Roadmap Development, the Quarterly Business Review and planning for the Group
- Be the Agile Servant Leader for the team– encouraging empowerment, facilitating the tools and resources, and removing obstacles

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Relevant previous experience of delivering complex products across large organisations
- Systems Engineering and HMI Design and Implementation experience at scale
- Knowledge of JLR vehicle architectures
- Understanding of the regulatory constraints and quality goals
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred
- Knowledge of design Quality Operating Systems and deliverables
- Understanding of digital design toolchains
