Hotel Receptionist

Our beautiful and historic boutique hotel is located on a sleepy stretch of the River Thames and is less than 40 minutes from London. Windsor Castle, Legoland Windsor Resort and Marlow are eight miles from Taplow, and Eton is just five miles away. We are currently undergoing a multi million pound refurbishment which will see us become the areas newest spa hotel. We are a TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Award winner and have an exceptional, two AA rosette restaurant. We are going places with further investment and development in the pipeline. As a Receptionist at Taplow House Hotel you will have responsibility for delivering a warm welcome and exceptional service to all our hotel guests.

Your main responsibilities will be:

· Welcoming guests to the hotel, checking in and out in line with our operating standards

· Taking payments and carrying out administration tasks

· Responding to reservations and sales enquiries in person, on the phone and via email.

· Anticipating and acting upon guest requests and, from time to time, thinking outside the box, to find creative solutions

· Providing information about the hotel, our services and the local area and attractions

· We are a close knit team and so from time to time you will be asked to roll up your sleeves and help out in other areas of the business

Essential requirements of the role:

· Exceptional customer service skills

· Ability to demonstrate both common sense and creative thinking to find solutions to guest requests

· A keen eye for detail and a willingness to proactively help your colleagues in other departments

· Previous experience of working in a busy hotel reception or similar customer focused environment e.g. spa, restaurant, corporate reception

Also highly desirable:

· Previous experience of working within a premium, luxury hotel

· Familiarity with ResLynx or Opera PMS

· Intermediate IT skills (or better!)

· Basic knowledge of reservations

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £11.44 per hour
