We are working with an organisation providing a service within the social housing sector who are looking to recruit a Housing Manager - Resident Services on a permanent basis.
You will be joining at an exciting time in which the housing management function is being moved to the organisation, and a new team is being developed.
The Housing Manager will report to the Head of Housing services and will have responsibility for the Tenancy Management function including:
- Overseeing a portfolio of both PRS and Social tenants.
- Resident experience and engagement
- Managing relationships with freeholders and managing agents
- Overseeing the complaints process
- Promoting resident engagement
- Working with residents to ensure we take preventative and early intervention with Tenancy Sustainment.
- Line management of Lettings Coordinator and Resident Engagement Officer
Duties will include:
Tenancy Management
- providing comprehensive tenancy management services including voids and lettings; tenancy management, including nuisance and anti-social behaviour.
- Viewing for social tenants
- Onboarding new tenants
- Providing specific advice and support both in person, via telephone, email on areas relating to housing i.e. tenancy agreements, housing/tenancy support
- Identifying nuisance and anti-social behaviour and in the first instance make an attempt to address the issue and where appropriate work with relevant agencies.
- Responding to complaints, members’ enquiries and problems of service delivery
- Conduct property visits and carry out tenancy checks. collecting and maintaining up to date information about customers and any changing support needs.
- Investigate and manage abandoned properties.
- To manage decants including being point of contact for tenant liaison.
- To investigate and manage other key breaches of tenancy e.g sub-letting
- Identify the need for and promote tenant participation and community development initiatives.
- Organise and attend resident forums and events including evenings and occasionally at weekend
- To promote tenant and resident engagement in service delivery and decision making within the Association
Staff Management
- Providing direction, and support to direct reports and through them cultivate an effective, empowered, motivated and high performing workforce.
- Driving a strong performance culture across the business and implement mechanisms for reporting management information to relevant stakeholders

- A relevant housing/property qualification (highly desirable)
- Excellent knowledge of social housing regulation and an understanding of best practice and industry leading developments
- Experience of managing teams to develop and inspire teams to deliver objectives and targets .
- Experience of using Housing managing software
- Experience of working of working in a resident engagement or customer facing role.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, developing good working relationships with colleagues and external service providers.
- Experience of working with external partnership agencies
