About the role
As a Housing Officer, you’ll play a key role in providing a comprehensive and innovative housing advice service. You’ll be required to interview customers giving accurate and up to date housing advice, promoting the prevention of homelessness wherever possible using available resources. You’ll also proactively manage your own caseload and process homeless applications and relevant enquiries in accordance with legislation, providing temporary accommodation where necessary.
As a Housing Officer, you will be expected to cover the face to face duty service in Exmouth and Honiton.
About you
Passionate and motivated with a helpful and friendly ‘can do’ attitude, you’ll possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be highly organised. Attention to detail is essential, along with a willingness to go the extra mile for our customers. You’ll be able to work on your own initiative to drive cases forward and support the rest of the team where necessary. The nature of the role is pressurised so resilience and the ability to work under pressure are essential along with effective and accurate administration skills.
A valid driving licence and your own car are essential (reasonable adjustments may be possible according to the Equality Act).
