Schools HR Adviser
PO2: £41,967 per annum, rising in annual increments to £44,862
Hybrid Working / Permanent / Full Time
The Schools Human Resources Team as part of Children’s Services, is responsible for delivering the HR service to managers, employees and colleagues. Your main remit will be to provide HR support to Schools that buy into the Schools HR Service Level Agreement.
We are seeking a HR Adviser to join the Schools HR team to support the traded HR service to schools, Children’s Centre’s and some services within Education, Learning & Skills. You will be required to provide comprehensive and professional support to Head teachers, Governors and School Business Managers on a range of HR issues and statutory duties which the Local Authority carry out in relation to its schools and in the broader context of School Improvement.
The successful candidate will be a strong team player with resilience and experience of nurturing and developing effective working relationships with Headteachers/Governors/Managers and Trade Unions.
Your role will include managing a diverse and complex caseload, across all HR strands including trade union consultation and negotiation. You will also be required to support the schools in disciplinary, sickness, capability and grievance panels as required as well as the marketing and development of the service offer.
You will be expected to have the following:
- Experience of working in a HR department in a customer focused organization
- Evidence of success in promoting equal opportunities, determining and evaluating service quality in order to achieve effectiveness and best practice in a comparable HR function, division or operation
- Either a degree or equivalent, or membership of an appropriate professional body e.g. CIPD, or studying or willingness to study
