HR Business Partner

Belfast - Hybrid (40% office based)

Ormeau Road, then City Centre (April approx)


We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Business Partner based in our Belfast office, to work with the business and wider HR team, to support and effectively manage the employee lifecycle, which will include delivering cyclical HR activity such as performance management & compensation and strategic people initiatives.


The Belfast office looks after our HUB Group part of the Just Group Plc, and are focused on finding the right financial solutions for people approaching or in, retirement. Their purpose is to help people achieve a better later life. We provide advice on releasing equity from people's homes, turning pension savings into an income for retirement and funding long-term care.


The HR Business Partner will be able to positively influence business decisions using experience, knowledge and general commercial awareness to achieve outcomes which are fair, appropriate, commercial, aligned with legal and regulatory requirements and support and reinforce the culture at Just & HUB


Key Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside the Strategic HR Business Partners on a variety of HRBP activities and specific projects.

  • Support in the process of collating information specific to the provision of regulatory data for businesses based in Northern Ireland.

  • Work with the business to deliver strategic workforce planning for the business area and colleague lifecycle activities (compensation cycle, performance management, talent reviews etc)

  • Continuously develop and support line managers, with a particular focus on strengthening their change leadership skills.

  • Work across the business to support succession planning, risk and developing functional and diverse talent pools.

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team on recruitment activity.

  • Lead the delivery of the performance management cycle across the business area, facilitating calibration and addressing underperformance.

  • Lead the delivery of the compensation process partnering with the business to support the annual salary and bonus cycle, providing input and oversight on benchmarking, total reward and DE&I principles.

  • In conjunction with the Employee Relations team, partner with the business on employee relations activities ensuring all actions taken are within policy, legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Report on the HR metrics and drive any relevant actions within the business.

  • Support engagement activities recognising the differences between each area of the business.

  • Provide guidance and feedback on the creation and implementation of HR processes and policies considering the specific the needs of the Belfast Office.


Skills and Experience

  • Chartered CIPD or equivalent qualification

  • English and Maths (GCSE C or above or equivalent)

  • Experience as an HR Business Partner and trusted advisor on people issues – more likely to be generalist HR than a specialist background

  • Experience supporting core people and talent processes and practices such as recruitment, talent development, performance management, organisational development and reward

  • Experience in supporting the submission of core employment data in line with the regulatory requirements in Northern Ireland

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – brings empathy and strong communication, questioning and listening skills

  • Ideally brings experience working within Financial Services, Operational and regulated environment.

  • Relationship building skills – build strong networks and stakeholder relationships as a credible and trusted advisor.

  • Analytical thinking and problem solving – understands and integrates data and insights from a range of sources to solve problems and inform actions.

  • Digital mindset – understands how to apply technology in a people environment.
