Job description

JOB PURPOSE                                                          

 

First Bridge Education provides high-quality education and behavioural therapy in their Ofsted-registered Centre and School for children with autism & developmental delays. In addition to our site-based education and therapy, we provide a small number of Outreach Services, to local maintained schools, and autism spectrum disorder bases.

 

At First Bridge, we utilize cutting-edge research, and an evidence-based practice therapy model to provide intensive early intervention therapy tailored to the individual needs of each child and supports the development of speech, language, social, play, emotional, and cognitive abilities.

 

Reporting to the COO, the HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting the delivery of a commercial, customer-focused HR service which supports First Bridge’s aims and objectives. They will do this via effective coordination of all aspects of the employee lifecycle and monitoring and providing regular HR KPIs; adhering to and working in accordance with HR processes, ensuring accuracy, meeting deadlines and that all HR procedures are actioned in a timely manner. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES                                                          

 

New Starters: Including responsibility for On-boarding & Compliance, arranging Inductions and managing the Probation process.


Files, Checks & Changes: Including responsibility for renewals and checks of DBS & Right to Work. Keeping our HRIS and Shared Central Record up to date, conducting regular data cleanses and supporting with the issuing of any required letters and contracts.  

 

Employee Relations: Work with senior HR members to provide support to Managers in the effective use of all HR policies and procedures. Preparing all letters on behalf of / in support of the Manager, and ensuring correct files are maintained.


Absence Management: Work with senior HR members to provide support to Managers in the effective management of Absence. Ensure Managers complete timely Return to Work Interviews and the relevant paperwork is completed promptly for payroll purposes. 

 

Family Friendly Policy Management: Work with senior HR members to provide support to Managers with regards to Family Friendly polices, including Flexible Working Requests, Maternity, Paternity, Adoption and Parental Leave. 

 

Payroll: Ensure all items required for payroll are submitted each month.

 

Learning & Development: Ensure all employees are up to date with statutory and mandatory training. Ensure training records are accurately maintained on HRIS and Shared Central Record. Coordinator training schedule ensuring online training modules are allocated and completed appropriately, liaising with the appropriate functional leads to ensure training is arranged. 

 

Benefits: Administer benefits, enrolling new starters, removing leavers and making any required changes during the employee lifecycle.


Leavers: Ensure leaver process is conducted.

 

KPIs: Produce statistics in relation to HR policies and procedures and staffing profiles as and when required. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES                                                         

 

 The successful candidate will be an excellent administrator with exemplary organisational skills. 

 

Specific skills and experience required will include:


Excellent internal customer service skills, with a genuine interest in employee experience and HR processes. 


People focussed and confident speaking to stakeholders at all levels.


Strong attention to detail.


Self-motivated with a desire to learn.


Administrative and IT skills e.g. competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, HRIS)


Flexible to work under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.


Driven to look at ways to continuously improve processes.


Organised and proactive, able to multi-task.


Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Empathy and understanding of preschool children with special needs.


Employment legislation knowledge is desirable, but not essential.
