Overview

As an HR Consultant at Metis HR Consultancy you will work closely with our clients to gain a thorough understanding of our client’s needs. You will provide an excellent service by advising and coaching on all stages of the HR lifecycle.

You will have a strong ability to develop long-lasting relationships with a variety of clients by developing a deep understanding of their organisation and business goals. With a highly collaborative approach, you will assess risk, provide commercial solutions, and proactively seek to improve our client service, ensuring excellent outcomes are achieved.

Comfortably engaging with clients over the phone is an essential part of the role and your commitment to service delivery, thorough attention to detail, strong communication skills, and supportive team mindset are crucial.

This is a blended consultancy role, providing HR advice as well as hands-on support to our clients and would be perfect for someone who loves to do both!

One of the most interesting aspects of the job is that you never know which client from a variety of sectors needs your HR expertise for their business issues. You’ll enjoy keeping the plates spinning, the variety of your work, and the intellectual challenge that this role could give you.

As an experienced plate spinner, you’ll already be an excellent HR professional, a confident contributor to team activities and tasks, and you’ll crave experiencing the professional pride of making a real difference. This role is not looking for a call centre, desk-based consultant but rather a proactive, dynamic individual who values long term business relationships and client centred HR advice.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will work with our client to provide end-to-end telephone support for all their employee relation needs meaning you will be a contact for help with a wide range of HR and employment law subjects, including disciplinary and grievance, TUPE and redundancy
  • You will provide ad hoc support in the form of proactive and reactive services, which includes HR training, chairing meetings such as disciplinary and grievance hearings, conducting workplace investigations or potentially exit negotiations on behalf of your client.
  • Opportunity to work with the Managing Director and HR experts who would like to develop the business and support the consultant in continuing to offer straightforward and challenging HR advice throughout the loyal and diverse client base
  • Provide operational advice to clients in relation to employment contracts, terms of employment and the interpretation of agreements, awards, and policies
  • To meet with clients at their premises, our premises or virtually to offer the best consultancy and service client requirements
  • To advise clients in "best outcomes" in a variety of HR related scenarios
  • Collaborate with the clients to systematically manage the business’ HR policies
  • Contribute to the development, review and maintenance of human resource policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Manage human resource cases including disciplinary, grievance and whistle-blowing matters.
  • To be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients and strategic partners to ensure that a high level of timely HR advice and consultancy service is maintained at all times.
  • To be responsible for providing commercially aware, professional advice to clients by phone and email in relation to a full range of HR and employment law matters.
  • To be responsible for maintaining and developing an in-depth knowledge of employment law and best practice HR.
  • To represent the company as an honest, knowledgeable, and conscientious ambassador.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the effective completion of the onboarding of New Metis HR clients within required timescales, ensuring an appropriate mix of methods are used to add value to their Metis HR experience, facilitating the development of effective sustainable relationships.
  • To be responsible for the professional development, preparation and presentation of all client work ensuring adherence to client specifications, timescales and required standards.
  • Giving the clients the support, they need to keep their business compliant in the everchanging world of HR and employment law!

Personal Specification

  • HR experience and/or qualifications particularly within employment law
  • Knowledgeable, tactful, and diplomatic, with an eye for detail
  • Commercially aware, able to work economically and think on their feet
  • An excellent communicator both in writing and verbally
  • A good sense of humour is essential.

***This is an office-based position. You must be in easy commutable distance of Stacksteads, Rossendale***

*Please note the owners dogs are part of the office and the role is based over 2 floors*

On Offer

  • Full time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm (30 mins for lunch)
  • Free Parking

  • Salary £45,000 - £55,000
  • 25 days leave per year + bank Holidays. (33days)
