Responsibilities for HR Manager:
Due to an internal secondment, we have a fantastic opportunity for an Operational HR Manager to lead our people agenda in Hellaby.
Lead all Site HR operational activities and support the ORG Pillar Lead in the delivery of the site’s IWS Organisation Pillar activity and HR strategy and agenda. Working in a HR Business Partnering model provide advice, guidance and direction on all people related matters working closely with and coaching key client groups such as the Hellaby Extended Leadership Team and First Line Managers. You'll also work in conjunction with a centralised HR Admin team and the wider HR function to provide the business with an effective HR service, based on a deep understanding of business environment and people implications.
Day to day responsibilities for the HR Manager will include:
· Ensure the delivery of a proactive, professional & value added HR Business Partnering service to the site including working effectively with line managers to coach and guide.
· Work closely with the ORG Pillar Lead in implementing and delivering the site’s Organisation Pillar activity (and HR strategy and agenda); managing change focused on the delivery of our new ways of working.
· Coach, provide advice and information to line managers on all aspects of HR activity to create a positive employee relations climate and improved employee engagement:
- compliance to process and policy and alignment across all HR practices
- managing performance and development within their teams
- effective case management of employee relations issues including absence, conduct and performance
- reward and recognition
· Own and understand the site’s compensation and benefits; ensuring clear processes, practices and governance are in place aligned to the KP Reward approach.
· Manage and/or facilitate key site initiatives / projects to drive continuous improvement; challenge current ways of working to ensure the delivery of a best in class HR service (ensure best practice is shared between KP sites and implemented at Teesside).
· Use HR data and insight to support decision making and to drive activities that deliver improved business performance.
· Lead the delivery of the core HR processes to a high standard and on time including: Recruitment and Selection, Talent Management & Succession Planning and Performance Management.
· Responsible for a range of HR Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to facilitate the better management of the business e.g. absence, headcount, employee engagement and employee turnover. Measured through IWS Scorecards, Health checks and tracked on the ORG Pillar Board using PDCA (Plan, Do,Check, Act).
· Act as a custodian of KP and legislative policies and procedures relating to employment through coaching and guiding managers including GDPR, Modern Slavery, WTD among other topics.
· Lead site wide communications plan in conjunction with the site Communications Team and Head of Communications & Corporate Affairs Manager (Slough).
· Be a role model for KP’s Values and Behaviours to drive culture change - live and breathe our V&Bs
· Collaborate closely and partner with the E&T Lead to ensure seamless alignment and delivery across HR and Education & Training, providing cover and support as required.
Job requirements
- You will be degree qualified / minimum of CIPD level 5 and ideally working towards / CIPD Level 7 qualified (or with equivalent experience)
- Generalist HRBP experience in an organisation of similar size and complexity
- Proven experience in successful delivery & change management of HR projects
- Excellent stakeholder management experience
- Worked effectively with trade unions
- Proven delivery of cultural and organisational change
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and gather insights from data
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
- Sound judgement and decisive thinker
- Computer literate and is able to pick up new applications quickly
