The school is based in Basingstoke and is a Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 800 students in total. Role Overview:
As an IT Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive and engaging IT education to students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. You will design and implement innovative lesson plans that cover a wide range of IT topics, including programming, web development, networking, and cybersecurity. Your primary responsibility will be to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students can explore, experiment, and excel in their IT skills.
Responsibilities:
– Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic lessons that cater to the varying needs and interests of students.
– Utilise a variety of teaching methodologies, resources, and technologies to enhance student engagement and comprehension.
– Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
– Foster a collaborative and interactive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
– Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in the field of information technology, integrating relevant updates into the curriculum.
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum materials, ensuring alignment with academic standards and industry best practices.
– Participate in professional development activities and workshops to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
– Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a culture of mutual respect and support within the school community.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
– Teaching qualification or certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) with experience in delivering IT education at the secondary level.
– Strong knowledge of IT principles, programming languages, software applications, and digital tools.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
– Proven ability to create dynamic and interactive learning experiences that foster student curiosity and critical thinking.
– Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
– Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to undergo background checks as required.
