Due to continued business success and a stream of profitable wins, we are seeking an experienced Import Coordinator to become part of our dynamic and expanding team.
The role primarily focuses on ocean freight imports (80%), with additional responsibilities covering air and road freight. As we engage a third-party agent for customs clearances, we require someone with 3+ years of expertise, particularly in ocean freight imports.
Position Overview:
- Manage the complete import process, collaborating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Prepare and scrutinize all essential import documents, such as invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and import licenses, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards.
- Interface with third-party customs brokers to ensure seamless customs clearance, maintaining compliance with import regulations and tariff classifications.
- Accurately calculate and record import duties, taxes, and associated charges, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Coordinate transportation and delivery of imported goods to designated warehouses or facilities, optimizing efficiency through effective collaboration with carriers and logistics partners.
- Cultivate strong relationships with international suppliers and freight forwarders, swiftly resolving any shipping or documentation issues to minimize delays.
Position Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in Import Operations.
- Profound understanding of the freight forwarding cycle.
- Excellent communication and IT skills.
- Conveniently located within commuting distance of Wednesbury.
Position Remuneration:
- £30,000 - £32,000 (Dependent on experience).
- Permanent Full-Time Position: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).
