£45,246 - £57,000 per annum with potential to progress further up the grade

The London Borough of Bromley is looking for two full time Childcare Advocates to join its busy Children and Adults Legal Team, which is developing its in-house advocacy.  This is an excellent time to join the council which offers flexible and agile working, a supportive working environment and is in the latter stages of its ambitious Transforming Bromley plan.   We are also in the process of moving to new, hi-tech offices. We have ambitions to consolidate the Borough’s position as a fantastic place to live and work, where everyone can lead healthy, safe and independent lives.

We are a diverse, supportive and friendly team who enjoy working together to support the Council deliver its priorities.  We are committed to modern and digital working practices, to maximise the efficiency of our service, share knowledge and support one another.  In particular, we work with our colleagues and partners to ensure the borough’s children and young people are safeguarded, grow up, thrive and have the best life chances, and are happy to call Bromley home.
The successful Applicants will have responsibility for conducting advocacy in a full range of Child Care matters before courts and tribunals, including contested matters.  They will also need to be able to undertake a case load of care proceedings matters, when required, and advise social care on the full range of matters relating to their statutory responsibilities/duties towards children. We offer a generous package including competitive pay, local government pension scheme, flexible working practices and the Bromley Employee benefits scheme; Cycle2Work, Salary Sacrifice Lease Cars, Technology Scheme and a wide range of unique discounts.
