In-House Commercial Lawyer

A leading law firm is looking for a Commercial Lawyer to work closely with the other members of the Commercial and Regulatory team in the Office of General Counsel and support the business globally.

The ideal candidate will be a UK qualified lawyer with at least 2+ years PQE. You will have commercial and transactional experience gained in private practice or in-house of another international law firm or a professional services business.

The main focus of the role is reviewing, advising and negotiating on terms of business that the firm enters with its clients. The regulatory element will be a small but important part.

Responsibilities:

• Providing advice to the Firm on a wide range of commercial and regulatory issues
• Contributing to and leading training in respect of risk and compliance issues to Partners and fee earners
• Assisting the Firm’s GC/COLP in handling issues arising from the regulatory obligations of the Firm, including assisting in any reporting obligations to the SRA and other applicable regulators
• Assisting on data protection compliance policies
• Contributing information and analysis on upcoming issues, legislation, regulatory change, market intelligence and best practice
• Actively contributing to the development of the risk management culture and policies

The role is hybrid and can be based out of various UK locations including, London, Leeds, Manchester or Glasgow.
