Job description

For people leaving hospital, adjusting to life at home can be a difficult time. Helping someone get their essential shopping, pick up their prescription or get the heating turned on can make all the difference for them to feel safe at home. The service operates from Monday to Friday, 13:30 to 17:00 and 17:00 to 20:30. We are looking for some one who will be: - Part of double crew Supporting discharges home from the emergency department of the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, RG1 5AN and covering the areas of Reading, Wokingham, West Berkshire. - Delivering person-centred and emotional support to the service user during their transferring to home, and as part of the resettlement. - Able to volunteer for minimum 1 shift per week. - Available to undertake required e-learning modules and Zoom training sessions in the first few months of volunteering (please see details in the Learning Pathway attached) plus other service specific training as required. **Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo an Enhanced with Adults barred Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check** Diversity is something we celebrate, and we want you to be able to bring your authentic self to the Red Cross.
