Job Description
The Roadworks Control team is responsible for managing and co-ordinating all road works and road occupations within Glasgow in accordance with current legislation and the Scottish Road Works Register (SRWR). The Inspector will monitor and inspect roadworks undertaken by internal/external contractors and statutory undertakers, inspect street cafes to ensure complaince with approvals, investigate and report on public liability claims, assess road defects and issue repair instructions as per the Councils Risk based policy. You will enjoy a challenge, be enthusiastic to new ways of working and complete work to ensure targets are met. Good communication/interpersonal skills, IT skills, a current driving licence are essential and an awareness/knowledge of the Scottish Road Works Register, NRSWA, health and safety are essential. Previous experience in roads and traffic operations, a HAUC certificate and City & Guilds/ONC/SVQ or equivalent qualification are desirable.
