We are working in partnership with St John’s Winchester, a charity which provides almshouse accommodation, care, and community services for older people within Winchester City Centre.
They are seeking to appoint an Interim Finance Director to provide financial operational and strategic leadership for the Charity and lead the Finance Department. Ensuring an effective financial infrastructure is in place to in turn deliver all financial reporting and regulatory obligations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Experienced at senior accountancy level providing direction and leadership taking responsibility with colleagues for the future of the organisation.
- Experience in completing year end statutory financial statements and managing the subsequent audit of these.
- Development of financial and management reporting systems to support current and future business needs.
- Ability to work at board level to agree, implement and review annual budgets and financial strategy for the charity.
The post holder will be fully qualified either CIMA, ACCA or ACA (or equivalent) and if possible, have experience of working and financial reporting in a charity. As Director of Finance, you will play an important role in a broad range of activities related to supporting the development of St John’s business strategy, as well as leading the operational requirements of our small finance team. You will be a member of the Charity Senior Management Team, reporting to the CEO. You will work closely with the Charity Leadership team, the Board of Trustees, other senior managers, and the Finance team.
