Would you like to part of a friendly Office team delivers finance services, secretarial support, strategic HR, and governance services in an educational organisation?
The small friendly team directly reports to the Chair of the Board of Trustees, overseeing three independent schools and two state-funded academies.
Located in offices within a Central London school campus, the Foundation office is conveniently close to Victoria station and the tube. As a team member, you'll contribute professional finance support to the Finance Director and the broader finance team, handling finance tasks using the I-Finance system, Autopay, and Bankline.
As Finance Officer your role will include:
- Oversee the accuracy of all nominal and purchase ledgers, ensuring precise journal postings, account reconciliation, and timely, accurate payments.
- Reconcile inter-company accounts between the school and the Foundation.
- Utilise iFinance proficiently for efficient administration of financial transactions and records.
- Manage iFinance, Autopay, and Bankline access for all three independent schools, providing operational support as needed.
- Oversee financial processes related to property maintenance.
- Issue quarterly rent invoices, record receipts, and follow up on reminders when necessary.
- Assist the HR Director in administering private medical insurance and cash health schemes and contribute to the preparation of P11Ds.
- Collaborate with finance colleagues to prepare for and facilitate the annual audit.
As finance Officer your education and experience will include:
- Accredited finance/bookkeeping certification, AAT level 2/3 or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in managing bookkeeping tasks with software solutions.
- Preference for experience in charities and education.
- Competent in bank reconciliation and cash flow management.
- Familiarity with treasury activities.
- Knowledge of pensions and employee benefits.
- Strong numerical and financial skills.
- Expertise in using diverse finance software applications.
