Interim Year End Accountant

Interim Year End Accountant (3 months) | Liverpool | £200 - £300 per day inside IR35 | Retail

***March 2024 start required***

A leading a reputable Consumer goods client of ours is looking for a proven Accountant to join the team immediately in March 2024 and hit the ground running. The business is extremely successful with a great reputation.

About the role

Working along side the financial and management accountants to prepare a robust and fully supported and analysed trial balance.

Key responsibilities

• Bring accounting for bank transactions up to date and reconcile these in Sage
• Bring accounting for credit card receipts up to date and reconcile these in Sage
• Bring accounting for credit card and expense petty cash up to date
• Prepare month-end and year-end journals
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and adjusting journals
• Analyse key P&L and BS accounts for management accounts commentaries and variance analysis
• Prepare financial statement disclosures and notes
• Prepare responses to the Prepared By Client (PBC) lists from the company's auditors
• Prepare schedules to support the company corporation tax computation e.g. disallowed expenditure

Key Deliverables

• Robust and fully supported trial balance accounts
• Accurate analyses and reconciliations
• PBC schedules
• Assisting the FD with ad-hoc tasks which might include improvement projects

Treasury Accountant Profile

• Qualified or finalist ACA/ACCA/CIMA
• Excellent presentation, communication, confident and professional
• Good knowledge of Sage or other ERP and accounting systems
• Excellent ability to handle a fast-paced company and finance department
• Very high level of attention to detail
• Experienced in with all aspects of Year End and preparing audit and tax computation schedules
• Resilient and tenacious
